Dr. James J. Haviland is the former Senior Consultant for Corporate Visions, Inc., of Lake Tahoe, specializing in the creation, delivery and management of corporate messages. He is a former college president, corporate and foundation Chief Executive Office and independent business owner. Jim’s doctorate from Western Michigan University, MBA from the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota, and certification from Harvard University Institute for the Management of Lifelong Education provide the educational framework for his recognition as an expert in the field of communication. Jim Haviland’s pioneering work in the dynamics of organizational communication is widely recognized. He received the International Platform Association speakers’ competition award as a result of his research and presentation of his findings. He is the author of “This Book Is No Joke: The Critical Role of Humor in Communication and Bridging the Communication Gap 1st and 2nd Edition”.
